For nearly 33 years, we've become accustomed to seeing The Bold and the Beautiful five times each week. Perhaps we've even taken it for granted. Last week, viewers had only one chance to see what kind of dysfunction was playing out for the Forresters, Logans, Spencers, and Spectras. But just because the show wasn't on the air, it doesn't mean that we weren't still thinking about them.
Just as you've gotten used to seeing B&B every weekday, you've probably been looking forward to a new Two Scoops column each week on Soap Central. We won't be posting a brand-new column, but we did think back to some of our past columns because -- and this probably won't surprise you -- many B&B characters are still making the same, um, questionable decisions that they did years ago. Skeptical? We've picked three columns -- one from 2011, one from 2015, and another from 2017 -- to show you how Brooke and Quinn are still feuding, how Liam is still torn between two lovers, and how the Spectras still seem to be living in others' shadows. Links and summaries follow below. Oh, and if you want to read the most recent column based on the last full week of soaps, you can read that here.
THE COMPANY WE KEEP (For the Week of September 26, 2011)
The teaser: On and on and on the beat goes...four weeks in, and it's the same old story: will Liam wimp out and indulge his hormones with Steffy, or stay true to Hope? Of course, the bigger question is: does anyone care anymore? B&B spent another entire week on this tale, and it's getting messier every day -- not due to plot developments but mixed messages and spotty continuity.
Why it's still relevant: Steffy and Hope are battling over Liam again.
Revisit how this tortured triangle got started in this classic Two Scoops.
SLAPS IN THE FACE (For the Week of March 9, 2015)
The teaser: The back of Quinn's hand had Brooke getting an up-close look at her carpet, but other faces were stinging among the Forrester-Logan-Spencer clan, too, if only metaphorically. Steffy got smacked by the reality of Liam's commitment to Ivy. Rick batted Aly around for his own amusement. But it looks like Nicole might be ready to lay down a little sisterly smackdown!
Why it's still relevant: When Quinn said Brooke should have learned slapping from her, she was right!
Revisit Brooke and Quinn's first skirmish in this classic Two Scoops.
THE SPECTER OF SPECTRA, OR, LET THEM EAT CAKE (For the Week of February 13, 2017)
The teaser: Bill and Zende ate crow, but nuSally ate up the chance to frost Steffy. Does the old recipe work on 21st century B&B?
Why it's still relevant: Sally's work and love lives are in the toilet.
Maybe she needs to be reminded how spunky she was when she first arrived via this classic Two Scoops.
