On July 4, Days of our Lives star Patrika Darbo took to Instagram to tell fans about her husband's Independence Day birthday as well as what's coming up in her professional life. After revealing that she's appearing at this year's Day of DAYS fan event on November 2, she had another surprise:
"I think you will be surprised to see I will be airing in October," Darbo said. "And you won't know what it's all about, but it's going to be a lot of fun."
While Darbo didn't specifically say she will be airing on DAYS, her announcement came in the same context as a Day of DAYS update. Fans also assumed they'd see her in Salem and spread the news on X.

The last time we saw Darbo on DAYS in 2022, a brokenhearted Nancy ran into her old frenemy Mike in Horton Town Square. They found themselves opening up to one another and agreeing to see each other again when they both returned to New York. What happened next was left up to our imaginations, so it's possible Nancy could return to Salem with Mike or she could be single.
Darbo began her tenure as Nancy in 1998 and played her off and on until two years ago. She also played Shirley Spectra on The Bold and the Beautiful from 2017 to 2018.
For years, the Wesleys lived in New York. When Nancy arrived back in Salem in 2022, she was devastated that her beloved husband Craig had left her and fallen in love with someone else. After learning that the person was Leo Stark, who was only conning Craig for his money, Nancy fell for Clyde Weston. She even nearly married him before discovering he was Abigail's killer.
What brings Nancy back to Salem? Does her story have anything to do with Mike or her daughter, Chloe, who left town in the fall of 2023?
