The Bold and the Beautiful's Thomas and Hope are currently going through their angst period. Their hot romance is on hold as Thomas tries to move on with his life and marry Paris Buckingham. He wanted to marry Hope, but she hasn't been able to say yes to his three proposals (so far) this year.
It took several years to even get them this far, as Hope was married to Liam, and Thomas wanted her from afar after doing terrible things in a misguided attempt to be with her in 2019. In the four years between Thomas keeping the baby Beth secret and Hope finally admitting her feelings for Thomas, viewers witnessed growth and setbacks as he tried to become a better person.
Once he found the right therapist and dedicated himself to change, Hope noticed. When the romance of Rome got to her head, she grabbed Thomas and kissed him, a moment that changed her life forever and ignited a fandom. The fact that it took four years to get to "Thope" is exactly what Annika Noelle loves about the pairing.
"It wound up being this incredible slow burn, and I give them [the writers] credit, because sometimes in soaps, romance is rushed," she told Soaps.com. "This wound up being years of building up to the kiss at the Coliseum."
While Thomas worked on himself and would occasionally have stories with Hope, Scott Clifton was Noelle's most frequent scene partner as Hope and Liam navigated their marriage. Noelle admitted she and Clifton had an easy vibe after working together for so long, but it was different with Matthew Atkinson -- which was not necessarily a bad thing.
"We've built a great rapport and trust," she said. "The fun part of the story has been not knowing where this journey the writers were taking us on would go. We both kind of strapped into the roller coaster together and said, 'Here we go!'"
