Chris called off the wedding, and all hell broke loose as Alison learned the truth about Chris and Emily. In anger, Alison informed Hal that her sister was still the slut she'd always been, and Emily prepared to tell Hal the truth. Later, a destroyed Alison ran into Snyder Pond, desperate to drown her wedding dress, when Aaron showed up.
Carly shared with Emma her dilemma of whether or not to stop searching for Jack, but Emma encouraged her to do everything possible. Carly decided to take the sketch to Lucinda, but en route, it blew away. Taking it as a sign, Carly went to the riverbank and told imaginary Jack that she had to stop searching for him, but she'd always hope he'd return to her. Meanwhile, Julia reeled from her discovery of Carly, Parker, and Sage's picture. She questioned Jack on memories of another family, but Jack steadfastly assured her she was his only family, "now and forever." Later, Julia made the decision not to tell Jack about the photo.
Nikki, Jennifer, Mike, and Henry went to Metro after the wedding fiasco. Jordan approached Jennifer, but Jennifer gave him a chilly greeting and grabbed up Mike to dance. As they danced, Mike and Jennifer had a warm conversation, much to Nikki's disapproval. Later, Nikki told Jennifer she had dibs on Mike. Meanwhile, Lucinda and Jordan struck up a conversation, leading to Lucinda offering Jordan a job.
Lucy found a fighter on the Internet, and he turned out to be good. Dusty was forced to tell her he needed to find a boxer who Dominic's fighter could beat.
Barbara was seeing her doctor and explaining to him why a child was always his mother's first concern. He left a nurse in the room as he exited, so that Barbara could take her medication. Barbara disrupted the situation by dropping her pills, causing the nurse to have to bend over to pick them up from the floor. As she did so, Barbara drugged the nurse, and she fell to the floor.
At the house, Will and Paul were talking. Will thought that no one would ever forgive him for what he had done. Paul said that it would be all right. He blamed Barbara for a lot of things and said that he was through with her. Paul left the room for a moment, and there was a knock on the door. He opened it and found Barbara, his mother, standing there. She said, "Hello, son." Then she entered the house. He told her that he didn't want to see her again.
Paul went down the stairs and discovered that Barbara was in the house. Paul was concerned for Will but told him that everything was going to be all right. He called the hospital and told them to go there and pick up Barbara and to take restraints for her because she was dangerous. He comforted Will by telling him that they were only going to take Barbara back and not him.
Barbara was trying to tell Paul that Will had manipulated the whole situation. He was responsible for going to her the first night she had been admitted to the hospital and also for taking her a nurse's uniform so that she could make it to Will's room. He'd also planned for her to be there as Hal, Jennifer, and he had been visiting. He'd had a plan for getting out, and he'd used and was using all of them for his own purposes.
Barbara told Paul that "Will is just not confused as he was when he first was admitted, but now he is dangerous." The men arrived from the hospital, and Paul instructed them to take her away. For Paul, the message to Barbara was, "stay away from Will, or if you try to see him, you will have to see me too."
Hal and Emily talked. Emily told Hal that she'd never had an affair with Chris. It had just been that she had always been left alone. Chris walked into the room and announced to Hal that he was in love with Emily. He walked over to Emily and told her that he thought that she was in love with him too. Emily was beside herself. She was saying to Chris that he was all wrong and that he was making a fool of himself. He needed to stop going on about his feelings. She said that marriage wasn't a bed of roses, but she wanted her husband.
Emily looked at Chris and told him to go and look for Alison and to let her yell and whatever at him for causing her so much pain. She said that it was the least he could do for her. Chris left. Emily tried once again to tell Hal how she had been feeling. He was never around for her and was always helping someone else. She'd gotten involved in the contest for the keys because she'd wanted something to do, but she'd ended up getting involved. She wanted to make it up to Hal but didn't know how. Hal told her that he didn't think she could make it up.
Hal walked out on Emily once again. She sat and cried. A while later, Hal returned and wanted to talk to Emily. She wished he would just yell at her or do something, besides just stand there and do and say nothing. He related the fact that on his cell phone, there were many calls from friends and the people at the police station, needing him for one thing or another, and he always had time for them. She had turned to him on numerous occasions, and he had always been too busy for her. She'd tried over and over, and he'd just kept shutting her out. He said that he didn't blame her for what had happened. He apologized to her and embraced her and she him.
Aaron and Alison were still in the pond. She blamed Aaron for what had happened because he had known about Chris and Emily and hadn't told her. She asked Aaron how he could do that to her and then say that he loved her. She accused Aaron of letting Chris break her heart and wanted to know why. He explained that he had tried to tell her when he'd first suspected something; in fact, he had gone to Chris, and Chris had explained it away. He hadn't wanted to say anything to her because he didn't want to be the one who hurt her. Alison told him that he'd hurt her every day by not saying anything to her.
Chris approached the area, calling for Alison. She didn't want to talk with him, and Aaron helped her to hide. He faced Chris instead. Aaron told him to stay away from her. Chris told him that he'd tried to do everything to make it work, but he just couldn't. He left. Alison appeared at Aaron's side and began to wonder what was wrong with her. She'd had nightmares about the wedding, and it seemed that they were being realized. She asked Aaron to not try to protect her but to be honest and real with her.
Alison thought that something had to be wrong with her that those things kept happening to her. Aaron told her that she deserved to be treated like the totally amazing person that she was. She rebounded by grabbing him, kissing him, and then running away.
Dusty and Lucy were trying to settle things. She wanted to know the truth about what was going on with the fight. He tried to explain it to her by using a ballet dancer and Swan Lake as an example, to no avail. Lucy just knew that things would be a lot simpler if he would use her money. She asked if he thought that she would love him any less if he used her money.
Tom and Margo were having a heart-to-heart about what had happened. Chris entered and wanted to talk with Tom. Margo let the two of them talk alone by leaving the room. Tom asked Chris what he was planning to do. Chris explained that the only thing he knew was that Alison had trusted him, and he couldn't have hurt her more. Tom told Chris that what had happened didn't make him a terrible person, but he had done a terrible thing. He said, "In time, people will forget what happened and will forgive you, but it won't be tonight."
Chris thanked Tom and left. Margo overheard the last part of the conversation and walked into the room. She asked if it was true that people would forget and forgive. Tom told her that he thought it was possible. A cup of coffee was offered, but Tom rejected it. He expected that his parents would want to talk with him in the morning. Tom reached for Margo, planted a kiss on her cheek, smiled, and walked out the door. Margo smiled back at him.
Nikki and Jennifer were trying to find the perfect apartment. Henry and Mike were helping them. It seemed that Jennifer had told Mike about how Nikki felt, and Mike knew how Henry felt about Nikki. It didn't seem to be the right combination for anybody. Mike thought that he could only think about friendships for the moment.
Jennifer and Mike had nothing to do, since they'd pushed Henry and Nikki to each other, so they decide to have a cup of coffee and let the other two figure things out for themselves. Henry tried to make suggestive comments to Nikki, but she told him in no uncertain terms that they were just friends, which unfortunately was what Henry said they were also.
Paul and Will went for a bite to eat. Will excused himself for a minute, and Lily entered the room and saw Paul. She walked up to the table. Her feeling was that Will had been let out of the hospital too early. She did want Will to get better, however. She just felt that he hadn't been treated for a long enough period of time to be released yet. Paul told Lily that he didn't feel it was fair that Will was treated like the town pariah either. Will returned to the table, and Lily addressed him. She tried to remain civil and said that he had every right to be back in town. Even though she'd lost Rose because of him, she would do her best to be cordial to him.
Lily extended her hand to shake his, but Will just stood there, forcing Lily to leave, telling Paul that it seemed Will had not been touched by her speech. Paul felt it was because Will just hadn't grasped what had happened to him yet, and he implored her to please give Will a break. Lily felt like she had just done that. Later, Paul told Will that he needn't worry so much. His mother had been locked away, and he had just been given a new life for himself.
Barbara told her new doctor that perhaps her brain tumor was resurfacing and perhaps she should see the doctor who'd treated her before. The new doctor said that her problem from before was probably not the problem, but she was allowed to contact her old doctor. Walker Daniels entered Barbara's room. She embraced him. She tried to use the same old story on him. He told her that he could not believe that someone else was causing the problems she was having. He told her that she was sick and needed help.
Walker assured Barbara that he would help her -- by doing what he could to make sure that she stayed there and got the help she needed. He told her that she needed someone else to tend to her. Walker told her not to call him anymore, because he wouldn't go there. Walker left the room.
Inside the room, Barbara was calling out, "Where are my children?" Outside the room, someone was watching Barbara very carefully. The doctor returned to check on Barbara. As he left, another doctor walked into the room. Barbara looked up to hear the man say that he "is there to help" her. It was Rick Decker.
Holden watched as Aaron tried to take his anger out on something else. Aaron admitted to being angry and not knowing what to do to stop how he was feeling. He told Holden that he was in love with Alison, no matter what she had done to him. Holden reminded Aaron of some of the things that Alison had been involved with, yet Aaron was in love with her. Aaron could not control how he was feeling. Holden told him to go to Alison and tell her how he felt about her. If he loved her, he should go after her.
Susan answered the door and found Bob and Kim on the other side. They were there to help find a solution to what had happened. No one had seen either Chris or Alison since the ceremony. While the two women were bantering back and forth, Bob received a phone call from Lisa, stating that Chris was at the Lakeview.
Just before they reached Chris's room, Bob and Lisa talked about the doubts that Chris had been having before the wedding. They knocked on Chris's door, and he opened it and let them in. Bob told Chris that what he had done was absolutely thoughtless. He had no regard for Alison or for what he had done to her in front of her friends and family. His father thought that Chris had a lot of apologizing to do, especially to Alison, and instead of wallowing in self-pity, he should go and take care of things.
Emily walked into the church and spotted Alison there. Alison wondered why Emily had let it all happen. Alison told her that she was her sister, and she trusted her more than anyone. She told Emily that even though Chris was the one who had driven a knife into her back, Emily was the one who had twisted it. Emily apologized. She told Alison that none of it was Alison's fault. Things had just happened.
Alison, upset and angry, told Emily that she'd ended up not getting married and not being with Chris. She had no wedding, no husband, no ring, and no sister. Alison left her and headed for home. Susan told Alison that there would be a day when she felt that special something for someone else again. Susan said if she could survive Rick Decker, then Alison could certainly survive Chris Hughes.
At the pond, Aaron met up with Alison. He wanted to talk to his best friend. Alison let Aaron know that she'd slept at the church. Aaron admitted to Alison that they could write a book with all that had happened to them. He told her that he would always be her very best friend.
Holden told Lily that he was concerned about all the anger that she was keeping inside of her. She needed to feel better about the future.
Aaron daydreamed about Alison.
Chris went to Alison to try to make peace, with no luck. Emily arrived on the scene as Alison was throwing Chris out. Emily told Alison that she and Daniel would be moving in for a while, but Alison wouldn't stand for it. Susan arrived home, and Alison told her mother that either Emily would go or she would.
A compassionate Rick Decker pretended to be Barbara's doctor, and Barbara began spilling her guts to him. However, Dr. Decker turned scary when he pulled out a syringe and threatened to ease her pain. Meanwhile, Will learned that Emily and Daniel were leaving home and took it personally. Hal coaxed him to go fishing, and they went to Snyder Pond. At the same time, Holden and Lily were facing off about Lily's attitude about Will. Luke entered the argument, and Holden and Luke arranged to go fishing at the pond, too.
Some bully teens chased Luke, and Will saved him from being thrown into the pond. Holden arrived and found teens tormenting Will, and Will standing up against them. Holden chased the kids off, and Luke told Holden that Will had saved him. Holden then got the idea that Will could work on the farm for money. Hal got Will to consider the job, and Will said he'd do it.
Lucy and Dusty encountered Dominic at Metro, and Craig learned Lucy was involved with Dusty in a fight scheme. When he tried to warn her against it, Lucy let it spill that Dusty was planning to sell off his share of the club so the two of them could get away. Craig reeled and vowed to do something to stop Lucy from leaving.
Henry and Mike talked. Henry told Nikki that he had something to do, but they should stay and enjoy the evening. Henry walked away, and Nikki hoped that she hadn't hurt good old Henry's feelings, but she just wasn't interested in him. Mike told her that he would get over it. Nikki and Mike continued to talk at the table. Mike said that he was not seeing anyone and was not interested in pursuing a relationship at that time. He just wanted to be friends. She said that was all she wanted too.
In the meantime, they set up a non-date to help put together the plans for her apartment. Later, Mike met up with Jennifer. When Mike told her that he would be seeing Nikki for dinner the following night, Jennifer looked at him strangely. Mike said that it was okay, as they had both agreed to be just friends. Jennifer told him that women didn't always say what they meant, and he needed to be aware of that.
Rosanna told Holden that she didn't want Will around the farm, and she certainly didn't want to give him a job. Holden told Rosanna that Will was a good kid, and he was trying to help him. Rosanna wondered about that, knowing that he was going against the feelings of his wife. She told him that the reason for not wanting him there was because of Paul. It would give Paul the opportunity to make a nuisance of himself. Holden told her that he could keep Paul away while she was staying there. She told Holden that she would never forgive Paul.
Paul and Jennifer met. He told her that they needed to dissolve BRO to keep Will apart from his mother. It would be safer for everyone. Jennifer wanted to know what had happened. Paul told her that Barbara had gone to the house the other night to see Will and take him back to the hospital with her. She was back in the hospital, but they would need to find another way to provide for Will. She told Paul that she wanted to keep the company. She had decided that she liked what she was doing and had even designed a few things herself. Paul offered to help her with the business in any way he could. She might even have her own line.
Will sat and thought about what people had said about him. Rosanna walked down by the pond and saw something white in the water. She looked at it and tried to reach it when she was tapped on the shoulder. It turned out to be Will. She talked to him, ever so slightly. He helped her with the dress, and she picked apples from the tree.
Will told Rosanna how he felt and how comfortable it was down by the pond and on the farm. She saw that he liked it and said that it would be all right for him to work there, if he wanted. He mentioned Paul and thanked her for helping him when they'd thought that Paul had been the one guilty of murdering Rose. He told Rosanna that Paul was really a good guy. Paul happened to walk up behind them and said hello.
Inside Barbara's room, Dr. Decker was talking with Barbara. He was about to give her a shot of something when the orderlies burst in along with the doctor. Barbara wanted to know what was going on. They put restraints on Dr. Decker and led him off. Barbara was told that he had been a doctor, but he had become a patient.
Barbara was able to sneak out of her room again, and she headed for Dr. Decker's room to return the call he'd made on her. He told her about the abyss that he was able to see in people that no one else could. Barbara told him that she knew all about it, that she had lived within it for quite some time. Dr. Decker told her that he just wanted to end their suffering. Barbara made an excuse to leave the room by saying that she wanted some water. Outside, she said that he was completely insane -- and she decided that could be useful. She went back later and told him that they could be very good friends.
Alison stood in the living room, telling Emily that she'd messed around with Alison's fiancé, ruined her wedding, and then wanted to stay in the same house with her. Susan said, "We're Stewart women, and we're gonna be there for each other. Don't throw us away, because we're all you have." Alison stormed out of the house, and Emily thanked her for standing by her. Susan wondered how, with her past, she, a put-together mom, could fall for someone who'd turned out to be a psycho who'd almost killed her daughters.
Aaron was at the club, feeling quite good because the two girls that he'd run into at the pond had gone to see him. Holden approached him and wanted to know how he was doing. He said he was just fine. Holden saw how he was responding to the girls and asked about Alison. Aaron told him that Alison was fine, and he was too. "So, all your feelings for Alison have vanished then?" asked Holden.
Aaron was about to get off work, and the girls were about to leave. Aaron promised to call Holden and excused himself. As he was arm in arm with the girls, Alison walked in. She told him that she needed to talk with him. As usual, Aaron told the girls to go on; they would do it some other time. He tended to Alison's needs. He said that she'd ruined his night with the girls, so he wondered what he could do. She said that she needed a place to stay.
