Although best known in Daytime for his Emmy-award winning portrayal of Carlo Hesser, Christopher has given life to numerous daytime characters. He played Hesser's twin brother, Mortimer Bern, from 1992 to 1994 on One Life To Live and psychopath Dante/Joe Young on Loving in 1994, both of which garnered Christopher Emmy nominations. Christopher also appeared for three years as Colonel Dax on Guiding Light from 1999 to 2002. He also had minor roles on Edge of Night in 1974 and Love of Life in 1977.
Christopher is perhaps best known to television audiences for his portrayal of Hawk in the television series, Buck Rogers. He also guest-starred on Murder, She Wrote, Simon & Simon, Hunter and T.J. Hooker. Christopher was featured in the television movies Betrayed By Innocence and Hellinger's Law.
On the big screen, Christopher has appeared in The Paper, Blood and Wine, Deathstalker III, S.H.E., Space Raiders, Voices and Street Hunter.
Christopher won the Clarence Derwent and Theatre World Awards when he made his featured Broadway debut as the fourth cast member with Jessica Tandy, Hume Cronyn and Anne Baxter in Noel Coward with Two Keys. He was also featured on Broadway as Appollodorous in Shaw's Caesar and Cleopatra and Emperor Henry IV, both with Rex Harrison.
Off-Broadway, Christopher's many credits include Tamara, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Merchant of Venice, The Investigation of the Murder in El Salvador, Parnell, and the CSC Repertory Production of Marivaux's The Triumph of Love. Regionally, he has performed in Uncle Vanya, The Miser, Dame Lorraine, Wait Until Dark, Kiss, Me Kate, A Little Night Music, Jacques Brel, Love Letters and The Sound of Music.
His theatrical training includes the New York City High School of Performing Arts, Ithaca College and the Neighborhood Playhouse.
Christopher shares his Manhattan home with his wife, writer and personal manager Judith Leverone. He devotes the majority of his free time to personal appearances for various organizations and is especially active as a member of the Board of Directors of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the New York Special Olympics.
