Tyrone grew up in Bay City with his mother, Irene. Tyrone never knew his father. Tyrone grew up with the Burrell family, which include Etta Mae and Toni. Tyrone was Toni's best friend while growing up. Tyrone went to law school at Stanford, and he graduated at the top of his class. Tyrone recently returned to Bay City after declining an offer in Chicago. Tyrone became Cass' new junior attorney. Tyrone developed feelings for Toni. However, he did push them aside when he defended the man Toni believed raped her in the parking lot. The Burrell family threw Tyrone out of their house because he went against them by defending Toni's rapist. However, Tyrone did prove that Nick Hudson did not rape Toni. After the trial was over, Tyrone allowed his feelings for Toni to get him, and he pursued them. However, Etta Mae, Toni's mother, did not want to see Toni or Tyrone get hurt in any way. Also, Tyrone began searching for his birth father. After extensive researching, Tyrone began to believe that he was an illegitimate child Etta Mae had during her marriage that she gave up for adoption. Tyrone broke all relations with Toni after this revelation. However, Etta Mae did tell Tyrone that she was not his mother, and that her illegitimate child was born before her marriage, and given up for adoption. Tyrone and Toni realized they were better friends than lovers, and Tyrone moved on with Marley Hudson.
