Kirkland Harrison is the only child of Grant Harrison, and the younger son of Victoria Hudson McKinnon. His parents marriage didn't last long, and when he was conceived, there was a chance that he belonged to Ryan Harrison, his father's half-brother, and the man with whom Victoria was having an affair. Shortly after Kirkland was born, Victoria went on the run with him. She pulled an elaborate baby switch, where Kirkland ended up being raised briefly by Jake McKinnon and his wife Paulina, while Grant was led to believe that an abandoned baby was the real Kirkland. Eventually, everything was sorted out.
Kirkland has always been a fairly minor character, but in the spring of 1997, a strung-out Paulina hit Kirkland with her car. While Kirkland was in the hospital, it was discovered that he had a brain aneurysm, which would have killed him had doctors not caught it in time. He then had a bad reaction to some antibiotics after the operation, but with his uncle Nick's help, he pulled through it all right. He is a bone of contention between his parents, because his father would like nothing more than to have custody of him, and if Vicky had her wish, Grant wouldn't be allowed within a mile of his son. He lives with his mother, half-brother, and stepfather (Jake McKinnon).
