The Young and the Restless' co-executive producer and head writer, Josh Griffith, says Genoa City will have a colorful autumn that includes, "Romance, secrets, betrayal, hope, love, loss, redemption, and a new baby!"

Fans of The Young and the Restless are on pins and needles, wondering what the CBS soap opera has in store for the fall, so it's a good thing co-executive producer and head writer Josh Griffith was happy to share what he has up his sleeve in the weeks to come.

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Griffith reveals that Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) will struggle with the way Adam (Mark Grossman) chooses to deal with his past and will "fear the revelation is pulling him away from her and their family." Adding to Chelsea's anxiety is the fact that Sharon (Sharon Case) believes "she's the one person who knows Adam well enough to get him through this overwhelming confrontation with his past."

Sharon, however, will have her own issues to deal with as she "faces the most challenging obstacle yet in her battle with her breast cancer."

Drama will also be brewing between Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Abby (Melissa Ordway), whose "delicious hotel war will continue to ratchet up" to a fight that not even Nick (Joshua Morrow) can stamp out. Adding to the mix will be Chance's Vegas past, which Griffith says will be of constant concern to Abby. "As more revelations about Adam come to light, Chance's connection and friendship could cause major problems for him and Abby."

Meanwhile, watch for Mariah (Camryn Grimes) to make a surprising choice that will have a huge impact on her relationship with Tessa (Cait Fairbanks), and for Jared (Michael Maclane) to return to Genoa City -- which will "be the catalyst for a shocking turn" in the storyline surrounding Amanda's (Mishael Morgan) past.
