All My Children favorite Eva LaRue (ex-Maria Santos) is returning to daytime television. The Emmy-nominated actress has joined the cast of The Young and the Restless.
LaRue has been cast as Celeste Rosales, mother of Rey, Lola, and Arturo Rosales. The relationship between Celeste and her children is described as "complex."
LaRue joined the cast of All My Children in 1993 and remained with the show through 2005. Upon learning of AMC's cancellation, LaRue returned to be a part of the ABC soap's final weeks.
In 1997, LaRue received a Daytime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category.
Outside of daytime, LaRue appeared as Natalia Boa Vista on the CBS primetime series CSI: Miami. She currently hosts the CW's Chicken Soup for the Soul's Animal Tales.
LaRue heads to Y&R to start filming next week and the actress is scheduled to make her first on-screen appearance on June 26. She'll be the latest AMC alum to join Y&R since the long-running ABC soap went off the air. Others include Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson), Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell), Debbi Morgan (Harmony Hamilton), and Darnell Williams (Sarge Wilder).
The news of LaRue's addition to the Y&R cast was first reported by Entertainment Weekly.
