If you've been anxiously awaiting the return of All My Children fave Eva LaRue (Maria Santos) to television, your wait is almost over. In just a few days, LaRue, who isn't a doctor in real life but played one on TV, will be prescribing a little chicken soup -- Chicken Soup for the Soul, that is. LaRue has been named the host of Chicken Soup for the Soul's Animal Tales on the CW.
"Animal Tales centers around our love for animals and the impact they have on our lives," Litton Entertainment said in a statement. "Each episode uncovers stories about amazing and inspiring people from around the world who go above and beyond to care for, love, help, and defend animals everywhere. Viewers will meet animal rescue teams and dedicated animal advocates helping lost pets find forever homes, and even meet some of the incredible pets serving and assisting people in need, including military K9s and therapy animals."
LaRue debuted as AMC's Maria Santos in March 1993. She left the show in 1997 but eventually returned for another three-year stint in 2002. LaRue, who is still a huge fan of all things All My Children, returned to the series when she learned that it had been canceled by ABC. LaRue has also found success in primetime, with her most recognizable role being Natalia on CSI: Miami.
Animal Tales premieres on January 5, 2019, at 10:00 AM as part of the CW's One Magnificent Morning educational and informational Saturday morning lineup.
