It looks like The Young and the Restless' new head writer and executive producer have really come to play ball. In the past week, the show has recast the role of Adam Newman and lured Emmy winner Michelle Stafford away from General Hospital.
Now the top-rated CBS soap has confirmed that Greg Rikaart is set to reprise his role as Kevin Fisher later this year. The details of his return, however, are being kept secret.
Rikaart originated the role of Kevin, Michael Baldwin's brother, in 2003. In 2005, Rikaart won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor. In 2017, fans were stunned when Rikaart was taken off contract at Y&R. Kevin was written out by having his alter ego move to Oregon with the presumed-dead Chloe Mitchell and their daughter, Bella. Kevin was last seen in Genoa City in February 2018.
Since exiting Y&R, Rikaart took on the role of Leo Stark on NBC's Days of our Lives. Last week, Rikaart revealed that he'd wrapped his roughly year-long stint on the NBC soap. It didn't take long for fans to begin speculating -- and wishing -- that Rikaart would return to The Young and the Restless.
Fans shouldn't get too excited just yet about Chloe returning with Kevin. Elizabeth Hendrickson, who starred as Chloe from 2008 to 2014, is currently appearing as Margaux Dawson on General Hospital.
Soap Opera Digest, which first reported Rikaart's return, says the actor will return in "late spring."
