It seems the sands in Eric Brady's hourglass will soon come to an end, because Days of our Lives has reportedly chosen to write the character off the canvas -- meaning portrayer Greg Vaughan's days are numbered, as well.
According to Serial Scoop, Vaughan has revealed that the so-called "Powers That Be" have decided to write out the popular character, who recently hit the bottle and is battling an alcohol addiction.
In August, the star announced that he'd renewed his contract with the NBC soap, but apparently, it was just a short-term extension to wrap up the character's current story.
Vaughan, who's also starred on General Hospital as Lucky Spencer and The Young and the Restless as Diego Guttierez, joined DAYS in 2012. The actor has also had stints on primetime series like Charmed, Malibu Shores, and Beverly Hills, 90210.
News of Vaughan's exit comes on the same day as word of Matthew Ashford's return as Jack Deveraux. For more on Ashford's return, click here. And stay tuned for more details about Greg Vaughan's upcoming Salem exit.
