This month marks 45 years since Melody Thomas Scott debuted on The Young and the Restless. While the show celebrates the occasion with an emotional and terror-filled story for Nikki, Scott chose to mark her anniversary another way and brought Eric Braeden and some other co-stars along for the ride.
Braeden took to social media on the evening of February 26 to show fans just what Scott and other Y&R cast members were up to during the day.
"This organization serves free food to thousands of special needs people all over LA COUNTY! It is MELODY's (NIKKI'S) 45th anniversary and she wanted to celebrate it here! @projectangelfood @melodythomassco @lauralee_bell," Braeden wrote on Instagram next to photos of himself, Bell, and Scott outside Project Angel Food and inside working.
Lauralee Bell (Christine) also showed off some pics from the day, revealing which other stars joined Scott to help a good cause. In the snaps you can see Colleen Zenk (Jordan), Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren), Scott, Bell, and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis)
"As if @melodythomassco isn't amazing enough, she chose to celebrate her 45th anniversary of @youngandrestlesscbs at @projectangelfood," Bell wrote. "We all felt so special to be a part of her day working for this incredible organization that is life changing to so many! Thank you to all that helped us in the kitchen."
According to its website, "Project Angel Food prepares and delivers more than 1.5 Million Medically Tailored meals each year, free of charge to homes of men, women, and children affected by life-threatening illnesses."
Y&R celebrated Scott's anniversary with the show last week by putting out an adorable video of all the Newmans wearing Nikki Newman T-shirts with the legendary character's many looks through the years. On-screen, Scott has some meaty material to sink her teeth into as Nikki's descent into alcoholism keeps getting worse, thanks to Jordan's machinations.
