Genoa City is getting a fun blast from the past, with Michael Graziadei returning to The Young and the Restless as his fan-favorite character, Daniel Romalotti.
Soap Opera Digestwas the first to report the casting news, which will see Phyllis Summers' (Michelle Stafford) son home for the first time since he attended his sister, Summer's, wedding to Luca in 2016.
There's no word yet on what brings Daniel back to the canvas this time around, but fans will remember that the character was involved in a slew of front-burner storylines when Graziadei starred on the CBS soap opera from 2004 to 2013.
The character dated women such as Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), Amber Moore (Adrienne Frantz), and Daisy Callahan (Yvonne Zima), and he was partially involved in the death of Camryn Grimes's Cassie Newman (she had developed a crush on Daniel, and after he got drunk at a party, she drove the car to take him home but lost control of the vehicle and crashed). Daniel was also involved in a paternity scandal in which Phyllis lied about the real father of her son in order to get Danny Romalotti to marry her.
After leaving Y&R in 2013, Graziadei went on to find success in primetime series such as True Detective, Good Girls Revolt, and The Lincoln Lawyer.
Graziadei will first air Tuesday, November 22.
