The Young and the Restless is right in the middle of a big storyline in which Faith Newman is experiencing online bullying, but fans won't be watching current portrayer Alyvia Alyn Lind in the storyline for much longer. The actress has been recast, with The Big Big Show alum Reylynn Caster taking over the role.
Deadline reports that Caster will be stepping into the shoes of Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon's (Sharon Case) daughter on Monday, April 12. The reason for the recast: Lind, who has been playing the character of Faith since 2011, is departing the CBS soap opera for a series regular role on Syfy's horror series Chucky (which you can read more about in Soap Central's article here).
Hailing from Kansas, Caster has several impressive acting credits under her belt, including the 2019 feature Adventures of Dally & Spanky and series regular roles on Netflix's The Big Big Show and CBS' Me, Myself & I. She also had a recurring role on ABC's American Housewife.
Shortly after news of the recast broke, Caster took to Twitter to share her enthusiasm about coming to Genoa City.
"I'm so happy to be joining the cast of 'The Young and The Restless' and to step into the role of Faith Newman!" she wrote.
