The nights are getting darker and darker as autumn crawls its way into existence, and it looks like some storylines on The Young and the Restless will be getting darker, too. The CBS soap has just cast former General Hospital baddie Jeffrey Vincent Parise (ex-Carlos Rivera) in a mysterious role that sounds super villainous.
Parise has signed on to Y&R as a character named Simon Black, who Soaps In Depth reports is "a charming and dangerous stranger who visits town to settle unfinished business with someone in Genoa City."
Parise has a bit of experience in playing a dangerous part, having played villainous Carlos on GH from 2013 to 2016. While he was in Port Charles, his mobster alter ego shot numerous people, including Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Duke Lavery (Ian Buchanan), the latter of which he killed.
Some of Parise's other roles include Supernatural, The Detour, Mad Men, Castle, and CSI: NY. He has also signed on to the fifth season of The Magicians, which is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2020.
Watch for Parise to make his scary-sounding Y&R debut on Friday, November 1 -- a little "day after Halloween" nightmare, if you will...
