Fans of recently let-go The Young and the Restless actress Loren Lott (ex-Ana Hamilton) knew that she would go on to great things after leaving Genoa City, and the popular performer hasn't let them down: her next gig sounds pretty dang special.
Lott is excited to announce that she has been cast in Cherish the Day, a romance anthology series created by When They See Us visionary Ava DuVernay that will be airing on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
"I love Oprah, and I love Ava," the actress enthused while walking the red carpet for L.A.'s Magic Men Live! "I'm just really excited every day that I have a job with like, the highest of the highest women in my opinion."

As reported by Variety, each season of Cherish the Day will chronicle the romance of one couple, with each episode spanning a single day. The season-long narrative will unfold to reveal significant moments in a relationship that compel people to hold true to the ones they love, from the extraordinary to the everyday.
"OWN is home," DuVernay says of her new series. "I'm honored to create television for a network headed by an artist with spectacular vision and unbridled passion for the stories that we want to tell."
"Ava is a visionary storyteller," says Winfrey. "She brings so much care, so much heart, so much love to the art she creates. I'm excited to continue collaborating together with our very first anthology series for OWN."
Cherish the Day marks the second series that DuVernay has at OWN. She also developed the series adaptation of the novel Queen Sugar, which she directs and for which she serves as executive producer. DuVernay is primarily known for her work in film, having directed the Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning documentary 13th as well as the Academy Award-winning film Selma.
Lott joined the cast of Y&R as Devon's (Bryton James) little sister in November of 2018. She was let go earlier this summer because the powers that be "didn't know what to do with my storyline and they wanted to spend their budget increasing other people's storylines." The actress landed her OWN role almost immediately after departing the CBS soap opera and shared the exciting news earlier this month. At the time, she wasn't able to give any details about the primetime series, but she was happy to share: "When God closes one door, he opens another. Trust him! I'm forever grateful."
Cherish the Day is currently slated to debut in winter 2020.
