Hold onto your hats, The Young and the Restless fans, because one of the Genoa City's most dynamic characters may be on her way back.
The CBS soap's executive producer, Mal Young, recently did an interview in which he teases there's "no doubt" Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) will be back to the canvas.
"When Missy [Claire Egan, ex-Chelsea] said she wanted to try new things we got the feeling that Chelsea was going off on a little trip and she wasn't [leaving forever]," he spills to TV Insider. "Missy and I talked about how this isn't the end of the story. Chelsea has Adam's kid. She's got a big chunk of Y&R history out there. That character will walk back in one day. There's no doubt about it."
Speaking of Adam, who has been played by fan favorite actors Justin Hartley and Michael Muhney, Young admits that the character's possible future with the show is a bit of a stressor.
"I try not to think about [Adam's return] because it would keep me awake at night," he shares. "I don't know if or when [Adam will be back]. Everyone talks about him a lot. He seems to be a big part of the show. He's officially dead, but...maybe not?"
That being said, the exec quickly goes on to say that viewers should not get their hopes up -- at least not now: "There's nothing to talk about right now [in terms of an Adam return]."
