Hot on the heels of the news that The Young and the Restless' Sofia Pernas (Marisa Sierras) has been taken off contract comes word that her on-screen love interest, Robert Adamson (Noah Newman), has been given the same fate.
Daytime Confidential reports that the CBS soap has bumped the Utah native to recurring status for "lack of story," despite the fact that he's been front and center the past few weeks, battling the fallout of Billy's (Jason Thompson) hit-and-run.
Adamson took on the role of Nick and Sharon's son in 2012. He's had previous roles on shows like Hollywood Heights and Lincoln Heights, so might he find post-bump success like Pernas, who landed a role on the CW drama pilot Transylvania within 24 hours of learning her Y&R fate? Time will tell...
There has been a lot of recent "uncasting" news coming out of Genoa City. In addition to Adamson and Pernas' change in status, Lachlan Buchanan (Kyle Abbott) has bee let go. For more on that, click here. And while still a member of the cast, Emmy winner Kristoff St. John recently revealed that his on-screen time will be cut in the weeks ahead.
