Congratulations are in order for The Young and the Restless' longtime stage manager Tom McDermott, who was honored with the Franklin J. Schaffner Achievement Award at the 68th Annual Directors Guild Awards this weekend.
Both Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin, Y&R) and General Hospital's Michelle Stafford (Nina Clay; ex-Phyllis Summers, Y&R) were on hand at the event, which took place at the Hyatt Regency Century City Plaza in Century City, California, to present McDermott with the award, which recognizes him as a Stage Manager who has given service to both the industry and the Guild. Both LeBlanc and Stafford have worked with McDermott extensively over the course of their careers, as he became a full-time Y&R stage manager back in 2002.
