The Young and the Restless fans have a little something special to look forward to, so says longtime star Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman).

The actress started the day out by alerting fans on Twitter that a familiar face is heading to the CBS soap. "Good morning, friends! Heading down to Genoa City shortly!" she wrote. "Working with a surprise Guest Star! Who could it be?!"

Y&R is no stranger to having talented stars pop onto the canvas for short arcs. Both Ray Wise (Ian Ward) and Meredith Baxter (ex-Maureen Russell) are known outside of daytime (Wise for projects like Twin Peaks and Baxter for Family Ties), so the question is who has the CBS soap snatched up this time? It will probably not be someone supernatural, but Scott does dish her close encounter of the paranormal kind in a new cable series. For more on that, click here.
