A young star from The Young and the Restless continues her road to stardom in Hollywood -- this time via Dollywood.
Alyvia Lind (Faith Newman) has been cast to play a young Dolly Parton in the upcoming NBC made-for-TV film Coat of Many Colors. Lind thought she was having a meeting with producers and executives of the film and had no idea that she'd landed the part. And who better to deliver the news than Dolly Parton?
According to NBC, Coat of Many Colors is based on the inspiring true story of living legend Dolly Parton's remarkable upbringing in the hills of Tennessee. The movie will take a look at the tight-knit Parton family as they struggled to overcome devastating tragedy and discover the healing power of love, faith, and a raggedy patchwork coat that helped make Dolly who she is today.
Music fans may recognize the title of the telefilm as one of Parton's many hit singles. Parton has topped the Billboard Country charts with a whopping 25 number one songs.
Lind has portrayed Faith Newman on The Young and the Restless off and on since 2011. She took a break in 2013 to film the romantic comedy Blended, starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler.
