The Young and the Restless is on the move. Beginning Monday, July 1, Y&R will move from SOAPnet to TVGN (formerly known as the TV Guide Network). The same-day primetime rebroadcasts of Y&R will continue to air at the same time, 7:00pm ET/PT.
There will be no changes to The Young and the Restless' daytime airings. They will continue to air weekdays on CBS.
The Young and the Restless has been airing same-day repeats on the SOAPnet cable channel since 2006. For the past five years, The Young and the Restless has been SOAPnet's top-rated broadcast. However, Disney's decision to slowly phase the 24-hour soap channel out of existence has resulted in the primetime airing of Y&R being seen in fewer and fewer homes.
Available in more than 80 million homes, TVGN is an entertainment network owned by CBS Corporation and Lionsgate. The venture combines CBS's programming, production, and marketing assets with Lionsgate's resources in motion pictures, television, and digitally delivered content.
TVGN has enlisted Y&R favorites Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman) and Billy J Miller (Billy Abbott) to film a promotional video for the move. You can watch the video below.
In addition, TVGN will be airing a special episode of its inFANity series called, The Young and the Restless On-Set. The special will air on Monday, June 17, at 9:00 p.m. ET, and will be hosted by Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters). The special features never-before-seen footage, interviews with the cast, and other goodies.
