Heather Stevens will be returning to Genoa City this spring, but when she does, fans will see the third actress in as many years playing the part. According to TVGuide, former As the World Turns star Jennifer Landon has been cast in the role.
Landon began what would later become an award-winning career on As the World Turns as a day player in March 2005. Her one-day stint was memorable, and Landon was signed to a long-term contract in May 2005. She remained with the show through April 2008, and along the way won three consecutive Outstanding Younger Actress Daytime Emmys.
It's been six months since Heather last appeared in town. Then an assistant district attorney, Heather fled town after photos surfaced of her kissing Adam Newman.
Vail Bloom originated the role in June 2007. In March 2010, former All My Children star Eden Riegel was hired as the show's new Heather. Just 18 months later, in September 2011, Riegel learned via Twitter that she had been let go from the show. Riegel won a Daytime Emmy as Outstanding Younger Actress in 2005.
Landon is the daughter of the late actor Michael Landon, who is best known for roles on Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, and Highway to Heaven.
Landon begins filming on The Young and the Restless on May 2. She first airs on June 7.
