The Young and the Restless has snagged yet another former All My Children star. This time, the top-rated CBS soap has signed Melissa Claire Egan (ex-Annie Chandler) to a newly created contract role that will debut next month.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Egan will play "a mysterious woman named Chelsea who is connected to Billy's arrest in Myanmar."
This will not be the first time that Egan has appeared on-screen with Emmy winner Billy J. Miller (Billy Abbott). On All My Children, Egan and Miller played siblings, Annie and Richie -- that is, until Egan's character clobbered Miller's alter ego with a tire iron and killed him.
Egan was twice nominated in the Daytime Emmys' Outstanding Supporting Actress field for her work on All My Children.
As previously mentioned, Egan isn't the only star with All My Children ties to join the Y&R canvas. In July, soap fans gasped when Y&R announced that it had signed All My Children icon Debbi Morgan (ex-Angie Hubbard) to a contract. Morgan, who plays Yolanda "Harmony" Hamilton, first aired on-screen today.
In addition to Egan, Miller, and Morgan, Genoa City boasts several other stars with stints in AMC's Pine Valley. Jeff Branson (Ronan Malloy), Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman), Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell), and Eden Riegel (Heather Stevens) have all appeared on AMC in the past decade. Genie Francis (Genevieve Atkinson) and Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott) also have AMC credits on their resume.
Egan, meanwhile, will first air on November 11.
