The Young and the Restless is going retro. The top-rated CBS soap is planning a blockbuster "throwback" wedding for Billy and Victoria next month. The ceremony is a nod to the way the couple first expressed their love for one another.
Actress Elinor Donahue will make a cameo appearance as Judge Anderson. Donahue is best-known as Betty Anderson, the teenage daughter on Father Knows Best -- the very show Billy and Victoria were watching when the pledged their love. Donahue previously appeared as an evil nurse on Days of our Lives in the 1980s.
CBS Soaps In Depth reports that Donahue's appearance is just one of the homages to the '50s. The wedding itself was filmed on a picket-fence neighborhood that was once used by My Three Sons and Leave It To Beaver. Victoria's wedding dress will be inspired by a gown worn by Audrey Hepburn in the classic 1957 film Funny Face.
The episode airs September 8.
