Amazon is preparing to release season two of the critically acclaimed digital drama Ladies of the Lake, and you won't believe what's in store for the upcoming installment of the series based on the book of the same name by Days of our Lives' executive producer Ken Corday.
Officially billed as Ladies of the Lake: Return to Avalon, the four-episode second season is set to debut on Tuesday, June 19, and stars a bevy of beloved daytime actors. Original cast members Marie Wilson (ex-Summer Townsend, DAYS), Jessica Morris (ex-Jennifer Rappaport, One Life to Live), Jillian Clare (ex-Abigail Deveraux, DAYS), and Kyle Lowder (ex-Brady Black, DAYS; ex-Rick Forrester, B&B) are all set to return, while previously recurring actress Arianne Zucker (Nicole, DAYS) is back as a series regular. Season two also boasts some other recognizable names like Kathleen Gati (Dr. Leisl Obrecht, General Hospital) and Robert Scott Wilson (Ben Rogers, DAYS).
"We had always hoped to be able to bring the audience more Ladies of the Lake and thankfully, the numbers have made that possible," says executive producer and series star Lowder in a statement. "We are bringing back the entire creative team from the first season and are excited to continue telling the story of the women of Avalon."
Says executive producer/writer Michael Caruso: "The book was an amazing launching point, but fans should definitely expect some major tonal changes for season two. We listened to our audience and are going to bring you an edgier, sexier, faster paced show. Season one was about laying the groundwork for the characters and bringing the original novel to life. Season two is about the fallout from the events of the first season and kicking the story into high gear."
