Soap stars are no strangers to romantic situations, having played out pretty much every love scenario under the stars. From literal family affairs, to traveling in time for love, to same-sex weddings, to fairytale trips to Budapest, Paris, and beyond, the world of daytime has covered it all. Some would say this makes the actors who've portrayed these storylines experts in the field of love, so Soap Central decided to ask a few for their opinions on which couple -- real or fictional -- should go down as the most romantic pair in history. Find their answers below... sealed with a kiss, of course.
Hunter King (Summer Newman, The Young and the Restless)
"My favorite romantic couple has to be Noah and Allie from The Notebook. That movie still makes me cry! Their love for one another is a love that every girl dreams of."
Eric Martsolf (Brady Black, Days of our Lives)
"My instinct was to go with Romeo and Juliet, but upon further exploration, I would say Beavis and Butthead. They laugh perpetually. That's the secret to romance."
Lachlan Buchanan (Kyle Abbott, Y&R)
"The older people (Gina Rowlands and James Garner) from The Notebook. They made me realize I do actually have feelings."
Cady McClain (Kelly Andrews, Y&R)
"Just off the top of my head, it seems to be Anthony and Cleopatra. That's the first couple that comes to mind. That's a pretty good one." (For more from McClain on romance, check out her recent Soap Central interview here.)
Christopher Sean (Paul Narita, DAYS)
"Most romantic couple of all time may have to be Romeo and Juliet. Love story for all ages. That's the kind of love I want. Find me some forbidden love that I'd die for and I'm all in."
Mishael Morgan (Hilary Curtis, Y&R)
"Allie and Noah from The Notebook because their love and passion for each other stood the test of time. But [I also think Y&R's] Nick [Joshua Morrow] and Sharon [Sharon Case]. I think just because it was the time that I watched Y&R the most. For me, Nick and Sharon were like Devon and Hilary right now. Their love story was just so epic in my mind. I was in high school at that time, and they were just getting together, so that was my most memorable love story. And now I'm like, 'What happened to Sharon and Nick?!'"
Jacob Young (Rick Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful)
"Romeo and Juliet because their story has translated into so many versions of the most romantic novels and movies ever told."
Jen Lilley (Theresa Donovan, DAYS)
"The couple on The Notebook. 'Nough said."
Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland, Y&R)
"I'm a sucker for Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Two characters from different worlds who are initially misunderstood by the other, but in time cannot deny the love and respect between them. Just watch the movie with Keira Knightly and tell me it's not the greatest!"
Judi Evans (Adrienne Kiriakis, DAYS)
"Hmmm...romantic is an interesting word. I would have to say Anthony and Cleopatra."
Daniel Goddard (Cane Ashby, Y&R)
"Cane and Lily [Christel Khalil]. Just think about it, you look at how they met: She was 19, Cane was early 30s, they had a period of distance because of age, it was not meant to be, they found each other in a time when they needed each other, and from there, everything that has tried to tear us apart has failed. You know, [executive producer] Jill Phelps said the other day while we were talking, 'Cane and Lily are a legacy couple.' And it made a lot of sense to me. So Cane and Lily." (For more from Goddard on Cane and Lily, check out his recent Soap Central interview here.)
Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman, Y&R)
"Noah and Allie from The Notebook! They loved each other so much."
Billy Flynn (Chad DiMera, DAYS)
"I'm a sucker for The Notebook. I bawl every single time during the very last scene. It's tough to beat that couple. But in real life, I think Paul Newman and his wife are kind of special. It's a very rare circumstance in which ... you see two people love each other so much for so many years, in this industry especially. They've been together forever." (For more from Flynn on matters of the heart, check out his recent Soap Central interview here.)
