A new report from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) reports that soap operas are an unlikely medical tool.
According to the CDC report, more than 38 million American watch daytime dramas at least twice per week. Nearly one half of those viewers have learned something about diseases or disease prevention through a soap's storylines.
The report went on to say that about one-third of those viewers were prompted to seek medical attention because of something they saw on their favorite soap.
