It's been four months since the final original episode of Port Charles was broadcast by ABC. Since that time, SOAPnet has started re-airing old episodes of the series and several of the show's stars have found work at other daytime dramas.
As you'd expect, Soap Opera Central has been following the comings and goings of the former Port Charles residents. Here's an update on some of your favorite stars and what they're up to now.
Michael Easton (ex-Caleb Morley)
Easton joined Port Charles in May 11, 2001 as a minister named Michael Morley. It was later revealed that he was actually a vampire - and Port Charles supernatural storylines were then in full swing. Easton left the show in December 2001, before returning the following year and remaining in place through the show's finale.
Easton joined ABC's One Life to Live on October 1st, 2003 in the role of John McBain.

Brian Gaskill (ex-Rafe Kovich)
Gaskill's appearance on Port Charles was originally only slated to last a few weeks. His short-term gig lasted from August 17, 2001 right through Port Charles' last episode.
ABC's All My Children reportedly expressed an interest in having Gaskill return to the show. He had previously appeared on AMC from 1995 to 1997 as Bobby Warner. In the end, however, Gaskill opted to remain out West and signed on to play Oscar Marone on CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful.

Kelly Monaco (ex-Livvie Locke and "Tess")
Monaco was one of the first characters signed on to Port Charles once the decision was made to make the show less dependent on its sister soap, General Hospital. Monaco had the ability to portray "twins" during her run and earned a Daytime Emmy nomination.
Monaco was actively courted by several soaps - including All My Children and CBS's As The World Turns and Guiding Light.
In the end, Monaco remained in Port Charles after PC' cancellation. She was hired to appear on General Hospital, but the decision was made not to keep her in her Port Charles role. Like Easton and his OLTL role, Monaco debuted on October 1st, 2003 - a carefullt crafted publicity stunt by ABC.

Julie Pinson (ex-Eve Lambert)
Pinson's stint with Port Charles ended long before PC went off the air. However, it also took her the longest of the actors mentioned in this article to make it back to daytime television.
Pinson was rumored to be up for a role on NBC's Days of our Lives, but the rumors never came to fruition.
Earlier this year, however, Pinson signed a deal to appear on CBS's The Young and the Restless. She will play a newly created character by the name of "Shiloh."

Julie Hanan Carruthers (ex-Executive Producer)
Port Charles' former executive producer was transferred over to All My Children in late September. Her ascension to the top spot at AMC ended a five-year run by Jean Dadario Burke.

Michael Dietz (ex-Joe Scanlon)
Dietz, also an original Port Charles cast member, left PC in 1999. For a period of time in 2002, Dietz appeared as a contract played on The Bold and the Beautiful. His character was utilized very little and he was soon taken off contract. However, he makes occasional appearances as storyline warrants. There had been rumors that Dietz would returned to Guiding Light and reprise the role of Alan-Michael, however, a GL spokesperson had repeatedly denied that the show is bringing the character back to the canvas.

Erin Hershey Presley (Alison Barrington)
Hershey joined the cast of Port Charles in March 2000. In July 2002, she married her co-star Brian Presley (Jack Ramsey). After the cancellation of Port Charles, Erin was a finalist for a spot on ABC's morning chat show The View. However, Presley did not make the final cut.
In early 2004, however, there was talk that CBS soap The Bold and the Beautiful wanted to sign the actress to a contract.

Debbi Morgan (ex-Ellen Burgess)
Morgan, known best for her work as Angie Hubbard on All My Children, left Port Charles in 1998. She was with the show for barely a year. Since that time, she has appeared in several feature films including the critically acclaimed Eve's Bayou and The Hurricane. In addition to her film work, she's also appeared on the Lifetime series For The People.
Mitch Longley (ex-Matt Harmon)
Longley, an original Port Charles cast member, exited the show in 2000. Since that time, he's landed recurring roles on two popular primetime dramas. He's appeared on CBS's Judging Amy and, recently, appeared on a recurring basis on NBC's Las Vegas.
