One Life to Live alum Melissa Fumero, known and recognized for her role on the hit Fox/NBC sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine, is ready to begin work on a new comedy project.
Fumero (ex-Adriana Cramer, OLTL) is teaming up with Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-star Andy Samberg to voice characters on a new Comedy Central cartoon series titled Digman!. Fumero announced the news in an Instagram post this week.
"Awww yeahhh!!! Sooooo excited to share this news! This show is so fun and SO FREAKIN FUNNY, but of course of it because it's coming the minds of @neilerdude & Andy (@thelonelyisland) Two of my faves and two of the funniest people on planet earth. Coming soon!!!" Fumero wrote in her Instagram post.
A brief synopsis of the new series from the website IMDb.com describes Digman! as a show that "tells the story of a world in which archaeologists are massive celebrities and the coolest people on the planet."
The new series is currently in pre-production. An official premier date has not been announced.
After leaving daytime and OLTL behind for good in 2011, Fumero joined the cast of Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Detective Amy Santiago when the show premiered on Fox in 2013. Fumero played the character for all eight seasons of the show, where she garnered a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for "Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series" in 2015.
OLTL is where Fumero, previously known professionally as Melissa Gallo, met her husband, David Fumero (ex-Cristian Vega) in 2004. The two were engaged in 2006, and they married in 2007. Melissa and David have two sons together.
