It didn't take One Life to Live alum Melissa Fumero (ex-Adriana Cramer) long to land on her feet following the recent cancellation of her sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The super talented comedic actress has been snatched up as the lead in writer/director Jim Mahoney's upcoming series Bar Fight.
The comedy will follow Fumero as Nina and actor Luka Jones as Allen, a splitting couple that agrees to divide almost everything in their lives 50/50 to avoid any drama. The only thing they can't evenly split: their favorite local bar. According to Deadline, Nina and Allen will "compete in a ridiculous, tavern-style custody battle for their prized watering hole, in which lines will be drawn, sides will be chosen, and beers will be drunken."
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star Rachel Bloom and Call Me Kat star Julian Gant will also star in Bar Fight, which wrapped production this week in Los Angeles.
Melissa Fumero starred as OLTL's Adriana from 2004 to 2008 and returned for a brief arc in 2010 that featured the return of Gina Tognoni in the role of Kelly Cramer. After leaving the ABC soap opera, Fumero went on to do a short arc on Gossip Girl before landing the lead role of Amy Santiago in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Some of her other credits include Marvel's M.O.D.O.K., Elena of Avalor, and One Day at a Time.
