Fans of One Life to Live alum Ryan Phillippe (ex-Billy Douglas) can look forward to seeing him center stage in next year's final season of Will & Grace.
EW reports that the actor has signed on to play himself in a guest-starring capacity when the rebooted NBC sitcom returns with its swan song season in 2020.
In addition to the news of Phillippe's stint on the show, it was announced that Lourd has also joined the series as Fiona, a character described by NBC as "an edgy, self-confident modern woman who's outspoken and irreverent." Singer Demi Lovato has also been cast as a guest star in the upcoming season and will play the role of Jenny, a guarded gal who comes into the life of Will in an unexpected way.
As fans of OLTL may recall, Phillippe played the role of Billy Douglas from 1992 to 1993. After leaving the ABC soap opera, he went on to find fame in movies like Cruel Intentions, Gosford Park, and Crash, as well as series like Damages, Shooter, and Secrets and Lies.
Will & Grace stars Debra Messing and Eric McCormack as best friends Grace Adler and Will Truman, one an interior designer and the other a gay lawyer. The sitcom originally ran from September 1998 to May 2006, for a total of eight seasons, and returned to NBC in September of 2017. In 2010, Phillippe revealed that he worried that playing a gay teen on One Life to Live would have a negative impact on his life. Check out that article in our OLTL News Archive.
