i>Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum Janet Hubert has joined the cast of General Hospital. The actress will play the role of "Yvonne."
Yvonne is slated as a love interest for Mike, who Mike will encounter at his care facility. The new character will also reportedly have some sort of connection to at least one Port Charles resident.
Speaking of connections, on GH, Hubert will reunite with Vernee Watson, who played Viola "Vy" Smith -- the older sister of Hubert's Vivian Banks and the mother of Will Smith's West-Philadelphia-born-and-raised Will.
This is not Hubert's first soap role. In 2005, she played the recurring role of Lisa Williamson, mother of Evangeline, on One Life to Live. She also appeared as Alice Dawson on All My Children in 1999.
Hubert makes her GH debut on December 7, which was first reported by Entertainment Weekly.
