2018 has gotten off to an awful start for fans of Jessica Tuck, who saw the former One Life to Live actress (ex-Megan Gordon) exit her role as General Hospital's Cassandra Pierce. And though her exit didn't come as a huge surprise, considering the character was a drug-trafficker with shady connections and a horrendous past, Tuck admits it wasn't always clear that her run would be short-lived.
"I never really knew what her deal was going to be or how long I might be there," she shares in the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest.
However, that changed as the story played out and viewers saw Cassandra enacting a slew of devilish plots that ended with her holding Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stewart) hostage and drugging recovery addict Finn (Michael Easton).
"I was on borrowed time," Tuck admits. "There was a flurry at the end of the scripts and I said to my family, ‘I think I'm going down. I'm getting really evil and awful!'"
That being said, only time will tell whether or not Tuck's Cassandra is really gone for good. After being stuck with a needle and suffering a drug overdose, the villainess was supposedly taken into the custody by the WSB and moved to a treatment facility where she may never recover. But we all know how soap operas love to bring back shadows from the past -- and Cassandra is definitely a shadow that might be making her way back to Port Charles at some point down the line...
