When last General Hospital fans heard of Ethan Lovett, he'd landed himself in hot water, and Robert Scorpio was on the way to bail him out. Trouble is nothing new for the son of Luke Spencer and Holly Sutton. Vampires, on the other hand, might give even the unflappable Ethan pause.

Nathan Parsons, Ethan's portrayer, probably won't pop up in Port Charles again anytime soon. He's just landed a role on HBO's popular series True Blood. Parsons will take over the role of James, a vampire who refuses to lose his humanity, last played by Luke Grimes during Season 6.

Parsons played the role of Ethan Lovett from 2009 until 2011 and returned briefly in 2013 for the show's 50th anniversary celebration. Much like his father, Ethan saw plenty of adventure and got caught in his share of tight spots. He spent time as a con man and as a lieutenant for mobster Johnny Zacchara. In 2011, Ethan went on the run to evade Helena Cassadine, who was prepared to use Ethan as ammunition in her ongoing war with his parents.

After leaving General Hospital, Parsons took a recurring role on Bunheads, which has since been canceled.

True Blood's upcoming seventh season will be its last. The first episode of season seven is scheduled to air on June 1, 2014, on HBO.
