The high-profile returns keep on coming! Rick Springfield (Noah Drake) will rejoin General Hospital for a short-term run to celebrate the soap's 50th anniversary. Springfield won't be returning alone -- he'll be joined by his real-life son.
People reports that Springfield's son, Liam Springthorpe, will make his debut appearance on the show as an undercover cop.
Springfield was born the son of a Lieutenant Colonel in the British Army and spent his childhood on various army bases in Australia and Britain. As a teenager, he fronted many music bands, which later paved the way for his success as a solo artist. Springfield earned a #1 hit with "Jessie's Girl" in 1981. During the same time, Springfield appeared on General Hospital, ending a two-year run with the show in 1983.
Springfield has made a handful of return appearances over the years. His most recent guest stint was in March 2012.
In between his sporadic visits to Port Charles, Springfield continues to perform concerts worldwide.
According to People, Springfield has not yet started taping. His airdates are expected to begin on or around GH's 50th anniversary on April 1.
