Adrianne Leon (Brook Lynn Ashton) is headed back to General Hospital this spring. The Emmy-nominated actress last appeared on the ABC soap in 2006.
Leon joined the General Hospital cast in May 2004 as Brook Lynn Ashton, the daughter of former supercouple Ned Ashton and Lois Cerullo. Leon's run ended less than two years later when her alter ego, having been stalked by an ex-boyfriend, left town to be with her mother. In 2005, Leon earned an Outstanding Younger Actress nomination in the Daytime Emmys.
Leon wasn't out of a job for long. The day after she made her final General Hospital appearance, Leon was back on-screen -- on another soap and another network. The Young and the Restless hired Leon for the role of Colleen Carlton, a core character from a major Genoa City family. In July 2007, Leon, who had become popular with viewers, was inexplicably dumped from the show. Published reports stated that the top-rated CBS soap fired the star not because of her acting skills, but rather because the show wanted an actress with a different physical appearance.
A General Hospital spokesperson confirms that Leon will return to General Hospital in May, but notes that an exact first airdate has not yet been determined. The role is recurring at this time.
