For the 45th time, the biggest stars in daytime television gathered to honor the best of the industry. In that time, the Daytime Emmys have been held during the daytime hours from aboard a ferry, in the primetime hours from a prestigious Hollywood venue, to just off the strip in Las Vegas. This year, for the second year in a row, the Daytime Emmy ceremony set up shop at the beautiful Pasadena Civic Auditorium -- and for the 20th time, Soap Central was there to cover every angle of the Daytime Emmy ceremony.
"What a fantastic evening to be celebrating Daytime television in the magnificent Pasadena Civic Auditorium," said Chuck Dages, Chairman, NATAS. "The National Academy is excited to be honoring the men and women who make Daytime television one of the staples of the entertainment industry."
In what was perhaps the "coldest" (temperatures maxed out in the upper 60s) Red Carpet since the Daytime Emmys moved from New York to the West Coast, countless daytime stars took a stroll down the carpet to celebrate all the best that daytime television has to offer. As they've done for the past 20 years, many of the stars stopped to chat with Soap Central's Dan J Kroll about their characters, the Daytime Emmy routines and traditions, and pretty much anything else that may have popped into their minds. Since it went so well last year, stars were once again also given the opportunity to ask questions to other stars.
This year's Emmy ceremony was once again livestreamed on various social media platforms -- and Soap Central provided another layer of coverage on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to share our own live coverage. Be sure to check out those social media feeds for behind-the-scenes photos of the Red Carpet and the press room.
