Huge congratulations are in order for Days of our Lives, which managed to take the top ratings position in the women 18-49 category for the week of December 14-18. This is the first time that the NBC soap has won that particular ratings category since March of 2006.
DAYS managed to bring in a total of 243,000 female viewers aged 18-49, while The Young and the Restless brought in 238,000; General Hospital brought in 233,000; and The Bold and the Beautiful brought in 217,000.
In response to the exciting ratings news, DAYS actor Wally Kurth (Justin Kiriakis) shared several applause emojis; B&B writer Michele Val Jean gave a congratulations; and DAYS' head writer, Ron Carlivati, cheekily wrote, "It happens."

Unfortunately, DAYS' success in the women 18-49 category doesn't translate to winning the overall ratings race. Y&R maintained the top position with a total of 2,993,000 viewers for the week, while DAYS remained in last place with a total of 1,778,000 viewers. B&B came in second place with a total of 2,588,000 viewers, while GH took the third spot with 2,176,000.
