A lot of very odd things have happened to Days of our Lives' Nicole over the years, but chasing UFOs isn't really a phenomenon that makes the list. Portrayer Arianne Zucker must have been ready for the out-of-this-world experience, however, because she has signed on to the upcoming science fiction film Monsters of California.
The coming-of-age feature -- directed by former Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge and written by Tom and Ian Miller -- follows teenager Dallas Edwards (Jack Samson) and his derelict friends on a quest for the meaning behind a series of mysterious, paranormal events in Southern California. The truths they uncover begin to unravel extraordinary secrets held tightly within the deepest levels of the Government.
Zucker shared some behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, writing, "What an amazing week working on #MonstersOFCalifornia. Lucky me! Thanks to an amazing cast and crew! You made it special!"
DeLonge spent over 20 years in the punk rock band Blink-182, which he co-founded with Mark Hoppus. However, his obsession with UFOs has been the subject that has had him in the news in recent years. He produced History's Unidentified: Inside America's UFO Investigation, was named UFO Researcher of the Year, and had three videos of UFOs that he captured and released back in 2017 recently declassified by the Pentagon.
Previews the singer of Monsters of California, which also stars Richard Kind, Casper Van Dien, and Gabrielle Haugh: "I have been playing this story in my dreams for decades. It represents all aspects of my strange existence, including growing up in San Diego suburbia as a disaffected teenage skateboarder. I had a tight tribe of friends who never missed an opportunity to piss people off and made me laugh so hard I would cry. The camaraderie, curiosity, angst, and irreverence is everything that led me to Blink-182 and this story is layered with my obsession with the tightly blurred lines between science and science fiction."
Says producer Stan Spry, "This project always stood out as a perfect mix of who Tom is, and what he and his music and companies represent. It's heartfelt, it's hilarious and R-rated. It has got underlying themes of love, acceptance, and of making the world a better place -- and has UFOs and bigfoot and all kinds of fun, paranormal stuff. It's fun as hell, and has the humor that fans of Tom and Blink-182 will love. It feels like the perfect mix of all of the things that Tom is and feels like a perfect film for Tom to direct. He's also writing the music for it, which will be epic."
