Soap fans have been impatiently waiting for Brandon Barash to return to Days of our Lives, and it looks like the wait is almost over. The actor reveals that he will be back in Salem next week!
Barash used the NBC soap's DOOL App to announce the news with a video of him singing about his character.
"You asked for it, you got it: I'm coming back to DAYS [Thursday], April 23. Be there!" he declares, before teasing, "Will I be Stefan? Will I be somebody else? Will I be somebody else pretending to be Stefan pretending to be somebody else pretending to be Stefan? Who knows? Tune in to find out!"
The video, which can be viewed in full on the show's app or partially on Instagram, also includes entertaining lines like, "Stefan, oh where did you go? You loved your mama so, that you got shot in the throat (thanks, Lani!)." Barash also sings, "A true DiMera never dies" -- which could be a hint that Stefan is indeed on his way back.
The character of Stefan O. DiMera first hit the canvas at the end of 2017, with General Hospital alum Tyler Christopher in the role of Stefano DiMera and Vivian Alamain's son. Barash took over the character in March of 2019 and immediately became a fan favorite, especially after Stefan was paired with Camila Banus' Gabi Hernandez.
Unfortunately, just as the pair's hot-and-cold relationship got off the ground, Stefan was shot dead by officer Lani Price (Sal Stowers) while defending his mother. Stefan's heart was subsequently donated to an ailing Julie (Susan Seaforth-Hayes), which makes it unlikely that he could still be alive -- but then again, DAYS has brought back plenty of other characters that viewers thought would never see the light of day again.
Prior to joining DAYS, Barash played the role of GH's Johnny Zacchara. His other credits include Good Trouble, Major Crimes, 24, and Gilmore Girls.
