Days of our Lives fans have been grieving the loss of popular on-screen pair Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abigail (Kate Mansi), but there's one more character who was ushered off the canvas when the fictional newlyweds left Salem: their son Thomas, played by Asher Morrissette.
Upon his exit from the canvas, the young actor took to Instagram (via his parents) and shared a special goodbye message to DAYS, his on-screen parents, and a few other beloved Salemites.
"Today my final episode as Thomas on Days of Our Lives airs. It has been nothing short of a joy, a blessing, and an honor to have been a small part of this legacy and my parents and I are boundlessly grateful for the opportunity," he wrote. "Thank you to Billy Flynn, Marci Miller [ex-Abigail Deveraux], Kate Mansi, (all three Emmy nominees -- congrats!), Camila Banus [Gabi Hernandez], Harper and Sydnee Udell [Arianna Grace Horton], Melissa Reeves [Jennifer Horton], and every single amazing person in front of the camera and behind the scenes who made my time as Thomas so fun and comfortable."
He continues: "In the casting office hangs a cross-stitched sign reading, 'If you are here, you are awesome." Truer words have never been said. This cast and crew are truly exceptional. I may have ended my time at DAYS but you will still catch me around town. Stay tuned for updates on my upcoming series and commercial work!"
Morrissette joined DAYS last year and has since landed the role of Cole Baxter on the upcoming series The Baxters, an ensemble family drama based on the bestselling novels from Karen Kingsbury that follows Elizabeth and John Baxter, and their adult children, as they navigate life's highs and lows, both with and without God.
Roma Downey and Will Packer have teamed to produce The Baxters, which is the first scripted drama series for Downey's Lightworkers Media streaming platform.
