Salem just isn't the same without the Donovan sisters, and many Days of our Lives fans would love to see both Eve and Theresa back on the canvas. But will the dream become a reality?
As Soap Central previously reported, Eve's exit from the canvas this Halloween is temporary, with Kassie DePaiva scheduled to reprise the role during New Year's. But what about Jen Lilley in the role of Theresa?
The last time fans saw the popular actress, Theresa had won full custody of her son, Tate Black (Colin and Kyle Schroeder), and left Brady (Eric Martsolf) behind to take care of her sick mom in Los Angeles. The storyline lasted only a few months, which is the kind of timeframe that would convince Lilley to return to Salem once again.
"[I would be open to returning] as long as it would be a short arc, just because I do have two kids in diapers right now, which is exhausting," she told International Business Times. "But so far, we haven't been able to line up a schedule because Hallmark's been keeping me busy."
One of the Hallmark projects Lilley is referring to is Mingle All the Way, a holiday film costarring DAYS' Brant Daugherty (ex-Brian) that debuts Saturday, December 1, at 8PM.
But that's not all that has been keeping Lilley busy. As Soap Central previously reported, she has a slew of projects in the works and is set to release a new album this February. That's a lot for any entertainer to juggle -- with or without small children!
At the very least, if she's not able to return to DAYS anytime soon, Lilley says she'd love to find other ways to work with the cast of the soap opera again -- especially Eric Martsolf, who she says would be a perfect fit for Hallmark movies.
"He's such a great guy, such a good actor and I think it would be absolutely on brand with Hallmark," she shares. "So, I would really hope that [could happen]."
