The early 2000s were the coolest days of some of our lives. They brought us belly shirts, chunky highlights, TRL, and the years of Mimi Lockhart's reign in Salem. And just like Backstreet's back (alright!), Mimi's portrayer, Farah Fath, is back, as well.
A rep from Days of our Lives confirms Fath is making a return to Salem, which will surely make more than a few fans of the NBC soap super ecstatic. After all, she played a large part in storyline from 1999 to 2007 alongside Salem staples like Shawn-Douglas Brady (Jason Cook/Brandon Beemer), Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), and Belle Black (Martha Madison).
The Kentucky native's return makes sense in another way, as well. After she left DAYS, Fath landed the role of One Life to Live's Gigi Morasco -- a role that was originally written by DAYS' current head writer, Ron Carlivati, during the time he spent writing OLTL alongside Dena Higley.
Fath recently posted a throwback post that showed Mimi at the age of fifteen and Gigi at the age of twenty-five. The photos spurred many fans to start commenting about the possibility of a Mimi return.
"[Mimi's mother] Bonnie keeps popping up," wrote one fan. "Why shouldn't Mimi?"
Fath hasn't been extremely active in the entertainment world since OLTL's ABC cancellation in 2012 (you can read more about why here). She did, however, appear in the TV movie Murder, She Baked: A Plum Pudding Mystery opposite DAYS' Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady), All My Children's Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan Lavery), and OLTL's Barbara Niven (ex-Liz Coleman).
Fath has reportedly already begun taping at DAYS, meaning she'll air in about six months or so.
