The social media world was set afire this week when former Guiding Light star Grant Aleksander (ex-Phillip Spaulding) was photographed on set at Days of our Lives. Rumors immediately began swirling that the popular star had joined the cast of the NBC soap, prompting him to set the record straight.
"Not sure how this rumor got started but I'm not going on Days of our Lives," Aleksander posted on his official Facebook page. "Just went by the Studio last week to say Hi to some friends."
The photo that created such a buzz was a picture of the actor with his former GL co-stars, Vincent Irizarry (Deimos Kiriakis, DAYS; ex-Nick/Lujack Luvonaczek, GL), and Judi Evans (Adrienne Kiriakis, DAYS; ex-Beth Raines, GL). According to Irizarry, the snap was taken during DAYS' 13,000th episode celebration.

Fans who miss Aleksander, who also played the naughty Alec McIntyre on All My Children, may not be able to tune in to DAYS to see the former Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee in Salem anytime soon, but they may be able to see him in a play written by former GL cast mate Michael O'Leary (ex-Rick Bauer). Called Breathing Under Dirt, the play stars both men alongside Cynthia Watros (ex-Annie Dutton, GL) and Tina Sloan (ex-Lillian Raines, GL), and will run at The Ella Fitzgerald Performing Arts Center in Princess Anne, Maryland, on Saturday, August 13, and Sunday, August 14. For more information, visit the theater's website.
