Fans of Days of our Lives' Melanie have a little extra something to be excited about this holiday season. The character's portrayer, Molly Burnett, is heading back to Salem.
According to a new report by Jason 47, the actress will reprise her role as Daniel's (Shawn Christian) daughter this January.
"Her length of stay is not yet announced. Will she be around for an extended stay, or to just help wrap up the Daniel storyline?" the website teases, referencing Christian's upcoming exit from the show.
As fans may recall, Burnett last showed up in Salem in November of 2014 for a story that had Melanie romantically involved with Brady (Eric Martsolf) -- a storyline twist that didn't sit well with Brady's other love, Theresa (Jen Lilley). Will the redhead cause more trouble for the couple when she returns to Salem? Fans will have to tune in next year to find out!
News of Burnett's return comes just a few days after confirmation that Nadia Bjorlin will reprise her role as Chloe in 2016.
