A lot of daytime fans miss seeing Jacob Young on their screens, so it's lucky that there are other ways to see the actor who is famous for his roles as The Bold and the Beautiful's Rick Forrester, All My Children's J.R. Chandler, and General Hospital's Lucky Spencer. He's also a musician, and he just released a new music video.
Set to his song Lovin' It, Young's new music video features his real-life wife, Christen Young, and tells the story of a man who misses his love while he's away on the road. There's no doubt that the actor's life served as inspiration for the song, as he frequently is away on tour as a musician and used to fly back and forth between his home in Utah and the CBS studios in Los Angeles when he was starring on B&B.

Young made his daytime debut on B&B, playing Rick Forrester from 1997 to 1999. His next soap role was playing GH's Lucky from 2000 to 2003, which he followed up with his AMC role as J.R. in 2003. After AMC's cancellation in 2011, Young returned to the role of B&B's Rick. He was dropped to recurring status at the CBS soap opera in 2018 and has since been pursuing a music career and other acting roles. His most recent projects include Killer Vacation, The Road Home for Christmas, yA, and Angel.
In addition to performing, Young recently sought to help struggling fans by sharing that he has battled with mental health issues and addiction in his past.
"Today at the age of 40, I'm still working on ways of taking care of my mental health. Like so many I had struggled with masking an overwhelming painful past with drugs and alcohol, that pain still resurfaces every now and then," he shared. "Thankfully I now have the tools to recognize those feelings and am much better equipped on how to handle them in a healthy way that works for me. Everyone deals with and guilt and pain. Yes, you are normal. Taking care of your mental health can be simple things you can implicate to your daily life or in times of crisis. For me, having an open dialogue with the one I love or trust is always a great place to start. Trust that they have seen you at your best and most definitely at your worst. Exercise, meditation, breathing techniques or a simple brisk walk can do wonders to help eliminate negative feelings and thoughts."
