If you are one of the viewers that was taken aback by The Bold and the Beautiful's seemingly abrupt decision to kill off Caroline Spencer, you're not alone. Linsey Godfrey, the actress who played the character for five years, also seems to have been surprised.
Godfrey took to social media to share her thoughts on her former B&B alter ego's demise.
"Hi Everyone, So I just got back from Caroline's funeral..it was beautiful," the Emmy-nominated actress shared on Twitter. "It appears it's time to say goodbye to our Caroline Spencer. I just want to first say a huge thank you to [B&B's executive producer/head writer] Brad Bell and the entire Bold and the Beautiful family. I truly adored every aspect of the wacky, feisty, sassy Caroline. I loved my time at Bold! [Don't] be sad, even though she is gone, I promise Brad and the writers have some awesome drama up their sleeves for you! Thank you for all your support and love over the years!"
Godfrey joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful in March 2012 and received three consecutive Daytime Emmy nominations beginning in 2014. Her first nomination was in the Younger Actress category, and the nominations in 2015 and 2016 came in the Supporting Actress field.
Godfrey exited her full-time B&B gig in 2017.
The following year, it was announced that Godfrey was joining the cast of Days of our Lives. On October 26, 2018, Godfrey made her first appearance as the NBC soap's Sarah Horton.
"Don't worry I hear Caroline has a brunette doppelgänger over in Salem, might be worth investigating," Godfrey added with a wink to her new DAYS role.
