The Bold and the Beautiful's Jacob Young (Rick Forrester) took to social media with a gorgeous photo to announce that 2018 is going to be a very big year, and he's already keeping true to his promise. Hot on the heels of the swoon-worthy Instagram post, he teased that he's about to release a new single called "Better Than a Love Song."
"Just a few short days away and I'm super excited!" he says of the single, scheduled for release on Thursday, January 11. "I hope you will enjoy this as much as I did working on and writing along side @thestevefreeman and @johnmilstead This has been a long time coming and I'm pumped! Check it out on #itunes #applemusic #amazonmusic #googlplay #spotify #pandora! Anywhere and Everywhere you can buy or stream music!"
Young, who's also known in the soap world as All My Children's ex-J.R. Chandler and General Hospital's ex-Lucky Spencer, began seriously delving into music back in 2016 and had his first big concert in Las Vegas in 2017.
"It all kind of started on a whim,"he says of why he decided to become to country music star. "My wife [Christen] told me I should stop just playing around the house and share it with the rest of the world... the great thing about the music is: when you're hired on a film or TV show, they are in charge. You are somewhat in control of your character artistically, but, ultimately, you still have to answer to somebody. Whereas the music is 100% my own, and, being an individual artist, I only have to answer to myself. Also, writing the songs is my creative outlet. Every artist yearns for that freedom to share your artistic statement. I feel like, with the music, I finally get to do that. Sometimes I wonder why I waited so long, but it might not have been the right time. I feel like now more than ever this is the right time."
Young's song will be available on all major music sites -- including iTunes, Amazon, Apple Music, Google Play, Spotify, and Pandora -- beginning Thursday, January 11.
